I normally read the first page of a book, then the last to see if I like it before buying. Not so with A Restless Knight. One look at that cover, and I was hooked! After I managed to tear myself away from the hunky knight on the cover, I wasn?t disappointed with what I found inside. Ms. MacGillivray knows her Scottish history and is expert at making it come alive on the pages of her debut book.
In 1296, Julian Challon, The Black Dragon, thinking himself incapable of love, sets about to obey England?s King Edward by marrying a Scottish wife and raising sons. An embittered Julian claims Lady Tamlyn MacShane and her lands and finds she has an unexpected gift.
Their story blends mystery and ruthless strength with the ravages of war and the pleasure of sensual love. Can a tormented knight and a Lady with powers of the Sidhe find true love when everything in their life has been devastated by war? Can Tamlyn?s determination and strength soften The Black Dragon?s heart when he threatens everything dear to her, including her home? In a struggle of love and lust, honor and treachery, courage and cruelty, they find lasting love. Ms. MacGillivray, an author fully capable of capturing the 5 senses and putting the reader inside the minds of her characters, in the middle of the action, spins a sensual tale of mystical love mixed with historical facts. Through the pages of this well written historical romance, with its likable characters and complex story, love is awakened and triumphs in the end. Definitely the kind of true love we all hope to find. A Restless Knight is a keeper and Deborah MacGillivray is an auto-buy author!
