A non-fiction narrative, this is the story of the all Latino soccer team from Woodburn, Oregon and the challenges these boys and their coaches face both on the field and off. Giving faces to the invisible, mostly Mexican immigrant kids trying to make it in a new and sometimes hostile country helps all of us to see each other more clearly.

How can this book be so overlooked? A read-it-forward in Spanish and read-it-forward (upside down and backwards) in English about two girls with nothing in common and yet. . .
On is an illegal alien working the streets to send money back to Mexico, we watch her dress and prepare in her motel abode. The other is a blonde cheerleader candidate whose mother makes it clear she MUST make the squad to get a good boyfriend and marry and wealthy professional and have a wonderful life. So different, and yet. . .
