I have recently written a novel about life in England during the Second World War. I felt some concern before I tackled this theme — the War...

First, let me admit that I don't typically read zombie books so this one was a stretch for me. What got me to even consider the book was a panel discussion that Maberry was on.
The premise behind this book is that you and I have woken up and looked out our windows and zombies have taken over the world. Now what?!?!
Maberry interviewed over 250 experts~ from forensic experts and neurologists to police and homeland security personnel ~ for the book. The result is a book that is an interesting, informative (and at times, almost frightening) read.
As an aside, a neurologist Maberry interviewed for the book was on the panel discussion. He gave an extremely detailed (and almost eerie) explanation on how zombies could actually exist. (Hey, don't knock it 'til you've read it.)
I found Maberry's style of writing informative yet highly readable and enjoyable. I've actually already picked up a copy of GHOST ROAD BLUES. Figure even an old gal can learn new tricks...or at least enjoy new books!

This is a must-have, must-read book ~ for children AND adults. Each page contains artwork ~ done by the author ~ along with simple, insightful wisdom.
It is also, at its very core, a love story.
I had the opportunity to meet both Ms. Humphrey and Rudy at a signing last year. Both of them are an absolute delight! Rudy's journey through life included being badly abused, adopted and returned numerous times...until Ms. Humphrey who adopted him and loved him. He, in turn, was her inspiration for the book.
This should be on every coffee table and bookshelf as a simple, beautiful reminder of what really matters and the power of love.
One last thing: A portion of the book's proceeds are donated to to animal-friendly charities. One more reason to grab a copy (and maybe one for a friend or family member!)

I'd been waiting, with baited breath, for the sequel to Frost's SHADOWBRIDGE (which I enjoyed immensely). Gratefully (but not suprisingly), LORD TOPHET was worth the wait!
The book is a winding, weaving journey through a fantastical world of characters sprung from Frost's brilliant, amazing imagination. He is a modern-day weaver of tales ~ and one NOT to be missed.
