I have not read this book. Indeed, I've carefully pushed this tragedy deep down hoping to never have to confront it ever again.
I knew Becky. She was beautiful, vivacious, a wonderful caring young woman.
I just read the selected excerpt from the book and am still shaken. It's too voyeuristic for my taste's but well done and seems to capture an aspect that I never wanted to know about.
I did see Becky a few years after the tragic events but we didn't speak about this, in fact we consciously avoided the topic. It had consumed her. There was no denying that such tragedy would consume anyone. No need to rehash events or feelings. Best to remain superficial less the demons emerge and cast her back...
Upon learning of her fate once again at the bridge there were tears.
I've never returned to that area.
As so many do, I miss Becky very much. Her courage, strength and beauty are inspirational.
