I found two copies of japanese children's favorite stories forty years ago and used them extensively in my twenty three years as a primary school teacher. The stories are filled with characters and exciting events that capture children's imagination and extend their own writing with encouragement to adopt the philosophy that anything is possible with the use of language in the written form.
