Haven't brewed at home yet, but bought a copy of Joy and also idiot's guide to work through before I made the big leap. I enjoyed reading Joy a lot more! Made me at least feel like I could handle brewing at home. The recipes seemed easier to follow than idiot's ones, and were explained in more details. Be careful about reading before going to bed, or you may end up dreaming about home brewing!
