Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way by Bruce Campbell
Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way

chidiock, December 30, 2006

Imagine if Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas had been written by B-movie star Bruce Campbell instead of Hunter Thompson. This oddly-titled gem has the same feeling of gonzo craziness as that book, but as seen from a more rational viewpoint. The only drugs involved are alcohol, nicotine, and caffeine, but Campbell's sharp sense of the absurd is pleasurably addictive.

The plot revolves around the author's alleged selection for a major role in an A-list film directed by Mike Nichols. He throws himself into researching the role, determined to prove he can hold his own with the likes of Richard Gere and Renee Zellweger. Of course, comic misfortune is usually only a misstep away.

If you are a Campbell fan, like the 1992 movie The Player, or just enjoy a wildly improbable tale, this book is for you.
