Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook 12TH Edition (2004) by Better Homes and Gardens
Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook 12TH Edition (2004)

I grew up without much skill in the kitchen. Slowly, I learned a bit here and there, but this is what I've really needed from the start. In fact, I think it would have done my mother a lot of good too if she'd had a good, informational cookbook when she'd been young.

This is what is needed. It should be a requirement for living on your own. I didn't know the bread knife was supposed to be used to cut tomatoes. Heck I didn't even know what that particular knife was supposed to be for until I received this book. The recipes in it are quite good. If my cupboards were a bit better stocked, I'd be in the kitchen right now instead of writing this review! If you are a young person looking for a good primary cook book, this is for you. If you're someone who knows someone who doesn't know how to cook, give this book to them. It is a great basic cook book. It has everything. Pages 5-56 cover Kitchen necessities, terms, basic cooking times, and so much more! It has a bit of everything you could ever want in a cookbook. It has charts with cuts of meat and various fruits and vegetables as well as in depth information about canning! What could be better than that?

I don't know if the "Gift Edition" is the same but it does say 12th Edition on the inside, however, like I said, it is a great book for anyone who wants to start cooking real food instead of eating out of boxes and pouches.

It's time to stock up the pantry!
