What a great insight into a great mind!
This book is extremely well organized and most definitely unique. I?ve read a lot of Anne Rice and read a lot about Anne Rice, but nothing to this extent. Ramsland invites the reader into Rice?s world through a wide variety of spectrums including stories, journals, biographies, articles, interviews and reviews. Ramsland reaches back into Rice?s early career and into sensitive topics that every Rice/Lestat/Vampire fan should know about but never wanted to ask.

I was first introduced to this book from an English professor in college. I had never heard of the book or Kim Barnes and as a typical college student was not in the mood for more than the required reading, but I gave this book a chance. I wasn't more than 3 pages into it when I fell in love. Not only with the story but also Ms. Barne's writing style. She masters a passion of words onto the page that few others can even begin to fathom.
And fear not if you're interested in this but haven't read "In the Wilderness" first. This story fills you in on the basics so you can enjoy the book without second guessing or becoming lost.
This is a great read for anyone who has ever felt lost or not apart of their world.
Thank you Kim. You are wonderful.
