I re-read this book last year at age 52 while I was sick with the flu. I found myself taking a breath and saying "Oh ,No", when Hittys safety seemed at risk. And worried , would she ever make it back to her loved ones. I couldn't put it down. I love this book now, as much as I did when I first read it at the age of 12.
