The Complete Book of Dreams (DK Living) by Julia Parker
The Complete Book of Dreams (DK Living)

clairePA, June 15, 2011

I use this book in my dreamwork classes. It's a basic and thorough guide to the dream realm, and it is no nonsense, something you don't often find in this genre. Use this book especially if you are doing dream interpretation on your own.
DK Living is a terrific publisher!

The Mysteries of Pittsburgh (Harper Perennial Modern Classics) by Michael Chabon
The Mysteries of Pittsburgh (Harper Perennial Modern Classics)

clairePA, June 15, 2011

Michael Chabon's first novel is very funny and bittersweet. Every one of the characters is fully drawn and developed. Using Pittsburgh as the setting of the novel enhances the novel's freshness and originality. This is a book you'll savor over and over again.

Burr (American Chronicle) by Gore Vidal
Burr (American Chronicle)

clairePA, June 15, 2011

If you want your early American history told in a pleasurable and knowledgeable way Gore Vidal's your man. Using the figure of Aaron Burr as the basis of the novel, Vidal levels down such giants as Washington and Jefferson to human scale and also brings us a lively view of New York City in the early nineteenth century.
