Phenomenal collection. Has horrific elements, but not horror; fantastical elements, but not fantasy. Defies definition. One of my favorite stories is about a war vet who rides a Harley through a radioactive wasteland after a nuclear meltdown in Oregon and is hounded by vigilante gangs of immigrants. As far as short story collections go, for me this ranks up there with "Jesus' Son" by Denis Johnson and "The Pugilist at Rest" by Thom Jones.
