The Chalice and the Blade: Our History, Our Future by Riane Eisler
The Chalice and the Blade: Our History, Our Future

collaich1, November 9, 2006

Riane has been able to mass complex details of existences far beyond our everyday experience and weave an existence whereby co-operation and unity prevailed. In so doing she has shown that a belief system linked all together. Within it the great Mother in her many guises predominated in the day to day activities of life to death. Fertility, and the need to
continue its kind was so important with human and beast and the rhythmn of this was linked together
with the natural order of seasons the magical link with the moon, the influence of the sun and the growth of
beasts and crops. This world lived and grew together in accordance with the natural order of existence. The Great Mother linked it all together like a mother
spider. Such a world does not exist today, and only a few recall it and attempt to live it today. I think
that Riane has lived before and something within her apart from her research was able to bring it all alive again. She ranks with me to the great Marija Gimbus. May there be more authors like her
