I adopted Leo, a Hurricane Katrina dog, from the Oregon Humane Society. Months later, I stumbled on this book and discovered that Leo is on page 15! I treasure the book almost as much as Leo...The book even inspired my husband's 5th grade class to do a photography project (portraits of their pets). I highly recommend it.
