O the Clear Moment
O the Clear Moment

dangerseven, January 21, 2009

I had the pleasure to meet and listen to Mr. McClanahan do a reading (and a singing) from his book when it first came out. I only wish he could have read the whole thing, but I finished the job the next day. Entertaining from beginning to end, if you have not read any Ed, this would be a good book to start, then work your way back to his other books. An original Merry Prankster, an original author, after reading, you will be discovering your own clear moments.

The Doorbell Rang (Crime Line) by Rex Stout
The Doorbell Rang (Crime Line)

dangerseven, October 3, 2008

To read one Nero Wolfe mystery is like eating a Pringle's Potato Chip. They are so addictive, you will be unable to resist another. This novel is one of Rex Stout's classics, where Wolfe, and his associate, Archie Goodwin, take on the FBI, and of course, solve a complex murder. This book, as well as all of his others, take you back to the days when men wore fedoras, and movies were in black and white. Classic mystery writing and highly enjoyable, you will be making a Rex Stout reading checklist when you close the back cover.

The Big Over Easy: A Nursery Crime by Jasper Fforde
The Big Over Easy: A Nursery Crime

dangerseven, October 1, 2008

The first of the Nursery Crime series, most entertaining and highly imaginable. Jasper Fforde has a huge cult following and why not. This book uses the cast of nursery rhymes past and puts them in a new light. Very clever writing and fun to read. The best part is that it continues with the book, The Fourth Bear, and a third book will follow.
