After Dark by Haruki Murakami
After Dark

dharmabooks, June 17, 2007

Murakami's penchant for ignoring the occasional boundary between the real and surreal is evidenced in this short novel. One achieves an intimate understanding of each of the characters despite their taciturn natures and the brevity of the book. After Dark is an atmospheric, mildly disturbing foray into the late-night hours of Tokyo, Japan.

The Mistress's Daughter: A Memoir by A. M. Homes
The Mistress's Daughter: A Memoir

dharmabooks, June 17, 2007

Homes' latest book goes beyond the category of memoir. The account of her circuitous search is at times uncomfortably intimate. On Indian Time by Luke Warm Water

dharmabooks, June 7, 2007

Luke's poetry is original to the nth degree. He makes no apologies, but he does make jokes. Good ones. With subjects both universal and specifically relevant to those of us out here in the lonesome crowded West, Luke Warm Water's work crosses lines that are worth following the artist over.

Luke Warm Water will appear in Reno, Nevada @ Dharma Books, 310 S. Arlington Ave. on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 for a reading of his latest work, "Iktomi's Uprising." The event is free to the public.
