Indecent: How I Make It and Fake It as a Girl for Hire by Sarah Katherine Lewis
Indecent: How I Make It and Fake It as a Girl for Hire

Sarah Katherine Lewis is wickedly funny and whip-smart. Reading her first book "Indecent: How I Make It and Fake It as a Girl for Hire" is like sharing a long-needed marathon bull session with your best friend over cocktails. Sure, you get to learn about all of the mundane details of what it is like to work in the sex industry - but more importantly you get to laugh along with her about some of her seedier adventures, cringe along with her when she's repulsed by the work itself, and cheer along with her when she describes the strength and nobility of several of her fellow sex workers that she holds in esteem.

Sarah Katherine doesn't candy coat any of this - and what results is a MUST READ and CAN'T PUT DOWN intimate quality that leaves the reader wanting to know so much more about the author, her life, her opinions, and what she's going to write about next.

Much like David Sedaris' writing, it isn't the subject matter that makes the reading so compelling - it is her voice, humor, smarts, and unique way of looking at the world which shapes her storytelling in such a way that feels so comfortably familiar yet completely refreshing.
