Molokai by Alan Brennert

What an eye opener about the treatment of people with leprosy! It will make you want to know more of the facts this fictional story is based in. And it gives great treatment to the needs of those suffering from the physical and social stigma associated with disease.

A very entertaining and educational tale of a real life experience of a Jewish peace corps volunteer in China. The culture and food and living conditions are so well described, I felt like I could have been there too, except maybe for the dog part.

Iron Druid Chronicles #01: Hounded

The last of the Druids is in our modern world fighting evil when he has to and making herbal decoctions at his bookstore when he isn't. So entertaining and well written, once you read this you will have to get the rest of the books in the series.

The Help

The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls
The Glass Castle: A Memoir

There were times i had to put the book down to recover from the cruelty of the authors life, and others when i could not put it down as she achieved so much with her incredible intelligence and strength of character. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger is surely evident here.
