Hitch-22: A Memoir by Christopher Hitchens
Hitch-22: A Memoir

dogwater, January 2, 2012

A very unconventional memoir by a very unconventional man. A writer so uncompromising and visceral, he would need his own cave if we were back then. And one with good high walls, at that. Mr. Hitchens always seemed a bit
frightening to me as I'm one of those who was brought up to mind your manners and try not to disagree too much
with authority. So, naturally, Hitchens was a good dose of absinthe for me. More rapier than epee. more stilletto than broadsword, he skewered the fools he found with the most caustic, but elegant prose. An original
mind, free of dogma, and rife with curiousity about what the rest of them were getting up to. One of my favorite
autobios and a testament to the truth as one man saw it. J. R. Horne
