Bones Would Rain from the Sky: Deepening Our Relationships with Dogs by Suzanne Clothier
Bones Would Rain from the Sky: Deepening Our Relationships with Dogs

I loved this book - read it twice already.
It is more about emotions than behavior, as compared to "The Other Side of the Leash" by Patricia McConell. A very personal account, it really points out that dogs DO have feelings, and how these emotions color their behavior.

The Power of Positive Dog Training by Pat Miller
The Power of Positive Dog Training

This is an excellent book if you are not familiar with positive, or operant conditioning training techniques - also known as "clicker training". It gives clear how-tos for a number of training situations, as well as guidelines for creating an efficient training program.

This is a terrific book. I learned so much from it, and not just about dogs! Can't say that it has helped with my training ability, yet, but I sure understand why it's NOT working better. I definitely recommend it!!!
