The anger in this book is tempered by Margaret's dry humor. I was grateful to be reminded that many white Americans (myself included) have the luxury of being seen by others without the filter of our race/ethnicity. The author's in-your-face humor is an effective way of commenting on injustice and absurdity in our society.
