This book is one of my top ten. Its not amazingly or complexly written but I just love the story. Its almost too real in some scenes. I can relate to the characters so much and although its not the most realistic ending it makes me want to beleive that there is someone out there. It made me want to beleive that im not alone. Some will think its a typical teen-trash novel waiting to be made into a mtv film but exiting my teen years I still pull it out on a rainy day.

I first read this book when I was in 9th grade. I was blown away at the beautiful words and complex characters, changed the way I lived my daily life. Janet Fitch is one of my idols. She is so real and i can relate to every one of her charaters. Its been four years since I first got my hands on this book and I still reread my well-loved copy with coffee stains and writing all over the margins. I also adore Paint it Black although it has a different vibe. Paint it Black has a younger vibe and is more direct, due to the major difference in main characters Ingrid and Josie.

I so admire her strength. In some scenes it was like she had a hidden camera following me around or something. Stay strong.(2 of 3 readers found this comment helpful)
