I loved reading this book! It delves into the life of a child straddling two civilizations, one modern, one archaic. It's the story of that child growing into a man and what he must do to reconcile the differences between these two worlds. Fantastic and eye-opening! It's a book I share with those who I love the most. I highly recommend!

The author has some wacky ideas regarding pregnancy (like not gaining more than 10 lbs) but I loved hearing her voice and perspective on giving birth unassisted at home, on her own! Is that redundant? Pat Carter was a General's wife and had many children (more than 5), and pulled rank when it came time to give birth!
I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in freebirthing, and this is of particular interest since she wrote it almost a decade ago (when hospital births were gaining in popularity and prestige).
