I just heard Eton recite one of his poems from this book on SPAN2 (July 9, 2006)...very impressive. It was hundreds of lines long, and he did it from memory with great expression and conviction.
Having followed his basketball career since his days at Syracuse, I was very surprised to find out he was "More Than An Athelete"!
Lines including:
- "Presidents who live in a glass white-house"
- "Dizzy like Gilespie"
and others really are quite memorable.
This guy is the real thing.
I'd love to collabotate with him on a musical piece someday that would bridge the black & white cultures.
