Paris Trout by Pete Dexter
Paris Trout

i gave this book a 3 out of 5 due to my disappointment. i was recommended this book by store employees at a book store in bend ORE(disappointment was no powell's fault). i was told this book was very dark and some what shocking. in my opinion the book was neither. i have also seen reviews stating how MR. Trout is especially racist which i would like to clarify he is not. he is protrade as being no more racist than anyone else of the time and i am sure he would commit the same crime to other people regardless of race.

now with the negativity out of the way i will say the book was fairly good. had i not been misled about what this book was about i would have given it a 4 or 5. if you have any sort of interest in crime novels than this book may be for you. i especially like how Trout's insanity was handled. i found his beliefs about why he did the crime, how he handled his affairs and even how he treated his wife to be very interesting.

if you like crime, human behavior, belief systems, or like books about a person(s) who is not quite right then buy this. on the other hand if you wanted a dark book for Halloween (LIKE ME!) then dont buy it.
