On page 213, in the last line, Hallinan misuses the verb "lay" instead of "lie." How many professionally paid writers and editors misuse these commonly confused verbs? A few pages before this, the author misuses the French term "emigre" when he means "immigre," a distinction that applies equally in the English cognates. One immigrates TO, and emigrates FROM. Which of the 7 reasons are to blame for such mistakes?
