Gardner's Art Through the Ages (with Artstudy Student CD-ROM and Infotrac) (Gardner's Art Through the Ages)

I own the Seventh Edition, which is several pages shorter than this edition. The illustrations are extraordinary and the text is readable (if too scholarly for my taste). It embraces all forms of art, from the ancient world to modern architecture. The best chapters for me were those on Renaissance, Baroque and Rococco art. If you love art and/or art history this difinitive book is well worth owning! I was lucky enough to find mine in a thrift store in Sioux Falls, SD and got it for less than ten bucks thirteen years ago. A bargain at any price!
