Maybe I'm just a sucker for a good coming out story, but I was really charmed by this book. The characters, even the secondary ones, are well fleshed out, so even as they stand out as quirky individuals, they don't come across as weird for weirdness' sake. Cass' emotional journey was told in a nuanced and believable way that makes me really root for her, particularly in the interplay between her and her erstwhile nemesis, Heather. A recommended read, even for those beyond the Young Adult years.
