Forsyte Saga by John Galsworthy
Forsyte Saga

helen ryan, October 31, 2014

The Forsyte Saga by John Galsworthy was one of my biggest surprises in a long reading career. I was ready for a slow Victorian read and put it off for years. It is a 3 volume set (with 2 shorter "interludes") and I could not put down one of them once I started. The author simply sweeps you away to Edwardian England and a family of fascinating people and their problems. I'm not always pleased with Nobel Prize winners (which the Forsyte Saga was in 1932) but this marvelous creation is one of my favorites of all times.

The most wonderful and beguiling story of my young childhood with a magic fur covered jacket. It is one those special and different gifts for a new baby.

People tell me that this is one of the best books ever, especially for young adults, but really any reader.
