Doctor No (James Bond Novels) by Ian Fleming
Doctor No (James Bond Novels)

While the plot may be somewhat farfetched, it is a spellbinding plot! It is classic Ian Fleming all the way. With Quarrel & the voluptuous Honeychile by his side, Bond enters the frightening world of the chilling Dr. No. From a nightmarish encounter with a tropical insect that will leave your skin crawling to chapters entitled The Long Scream & Killing Ground that will have you agonizing with James when others would give up & die. (Please note that the pages are numbered in 3 digits so each that each Penguin Book actually has a page numbered "007".CLEVER)

The Man With the Golden Gun: A James Bond Novel (James Bond Novels) by Ian Fleming
The Man With the Golden Gun: A James Bond Novel (James Bond Novels)

iamflemingfan, December 13, 2008

The movie missed out on a huge opportunity by eliminating the fascinating beginning to this novel. It allowed readers to follow-up on the poignant ending of You Only Live Twice. Bond, recovering from amnesia is then brainwashed by the Russians & given the assignment to kill M. M then contemptuously assigns Bond to hunt down Scaramanga who has killed all other operatives assigned previously to find him. While this novel is weaker, the struggle on the train & the fight for life in the mangroves are highlights later in the book.

You Only Live Twice: A James Bond Novel (James Bond Novels)

Bond, devastated & grieving over the loss of his bride is assigned to a seemingly hopeless case in Japan under the orders of the forbidding head of the Japanese secret service, Tiger Tanaka. Mr. Tanaka assigns Bond to exercise his license to kill a sick & twisted foreigner who has taken up residence in Japan.
Bond's mission becomes personal as he confronts his darker side -- his need for revenge. Kissy Suzuki is there in all of her beauty & innocence to pick up the pieces of his once again shattered life.

James Bond: The Union Trilogy: Three 007 Novels (High Time to Kill, Doubleshot, Never Dream of Dying) and a Short Story ("Blast from the Past") by Raymond Benson
James Bond: The Union Trilogy: Three 007 Novels (High Time to Kill, Doubleshot, Never Dream of Dying) and a Short Story (

This is a bargain. High Time to Kill is action-packed with a condescending rival from Bond's boyhood days. Never Dream of Dying brings back Renee Mathis & together they endure nightmarish torture by a villain obsessed with eyes. Blast from the Past- Benson's short story about the murder of Bond's son to Kissy Suzuki. Lastly, but certainly not least, Doubleshot. The Union vows to destroy Bond's mind & life before killing him in disgrace. Is Bond going insane??
Agonizing headaches, blackouts & hallucinations.
