This book took me indepth in his private life so much until I felt I was there with him especially in the private sector when he was from place to place gigging. I personally know what that is like from when I used to "hang" in NYC in Harlem with a very dear friend of mine who is now deceased, Jack McDuff.
The book was so embracing that I literally had to put the book down as I was moving too fast in the fast paced life that he led. I loved it but it got to me and I may pick it back up and finish it now but it reminded me of back in the day when I was "hanging out". Also, I've never been into any book and it have that effect on me as this one did.
This book is awesome so do read it and experience it for yourself.
