Sui generis. A masterpiece. Indescribably beautiful. What more can one say?

Delightfully macabre yet deeply nostalgic and romantic meditation on death and love, with simply gorgeous prose.

Simply gorgeous. Thompson is one of a handful of graphic "novelists" who produce works that bear comparison with the great writers.

Native Trees of Canada by Leanne (ilt) Shapton
Native Trees of Canada

Gorgeous work from one of the premier artists/writers working today. Taking her inspiration from a 1917 book published by the Canadian Department of Northern Affairs and National Resources, she created a series of paintings that simply take your breath and offer delight and the grace of art in return.

What's Gotten Into Us?: Staying Healthy in a Toxic World by Mckay Jenkins
What's Gotten Into Us?: Staying Healthy in a Toxic World

jambyfool, September 1, 2011

Terrifying yet absolutely essential reading. A primer in what is, and has been, poisoning our bodies and our environment over the last century. You'll never look about yourself again without reciting the mantra, internally or, if you wish to make your lunacy manifest, shouting to the world, "Toxins!"
