Two Girls Fat and Thin by Mary Gaitskill
Two Girls Fat and Thin

I really enjoyed the story intertwining with the Ayn Rand type of philosophy. As a big fan of Rands books, I thought the author did very well showing the effect such powerful philosophies have on young adults. And what young adults do in their twenties, affect the rest of their lives. As a female, I also thought the author did very well in protraying how sex is so confusing, unusual, erotic, and normal for young women. I am older now, and can see much more clear how many phases a person goes through thier lives, but the threads of live start at an early age and can be seen emerging thoughout these phases. I think Mary Gaitskill has written a very engaging book that I have already started to talk to others about. I will be reading other things by Ms. Gaitskill.
