I wasn't sure about buying this book because of the size and weight ... but it truly paid off it's weight in gold. I think I best described it to my husband as a story of people's lives, how they intersect, collide and still create friendship. A travel book, a book of history, and a book with a terrific sense of humor and play. I purchased an ebook version for my Ipad so I can re-read it in leisure ... and will keep the weighted copy for loan. A very different take from Robert Fulghum, but the one I consider to truly be his best.
as someone that honestly believes that I couldn't draw my way out of a box, I loved this book ... it gave me courage to learn to draw, to turn things around and view them from another angle. as a photographer it also gave me insight to looking at things from a different 'eye', to notice light and the varying color of shadow. I've already recommended it to several people, and I highly encourage anyone that has an interest in wanting to change their field of vision to check this book out ... it's a good read.
