Freeman is a true pragmatist and makes a convincing story about how our brain 'works'. The book is not a very easy read, but then again, our minds are complex little creatures. With a few additions, the model developed by Freeman can support subconcious and self realization. I think it comes closer to the working of body/brain - - mind than Damasio and LeDoux.
