It's not the sex that makes this book disapointing compared to Hamiton's other work- it's the brevity. It is the only Anita that I don't own in hardback- because it was never available in hardback. Yes there has become more and more sex in the books, but it fits with the story line- and considering the first nine books had a grand total of two sex scenes and suddely we made this huge jump, I am sure that Laurel has her reasoning.

Wow I can't beleive no one has reveiwed this.... Ummmm:
Intro book to quite possibly the Very Best vampire series ever written- I await new books hungrily every year- started reading Hamilton's other series about a year ago. I have been a die hard Anita Blake fan for close to a decade now and this is the book that started it all....
I have owned three copies of it, something always happens to it and I can't not have it in my library

Well written and to the point, be careful when reading this book. Make sure that you have a good support system surrounding you. I would recomend that some one close to you read the book with you as well, so they know what you are going through.

Quite possibly THE best BDSM book i have read to date. It gives a real veiw of the lifestyle that is neither scary or vanilla. Also apreciated the pansexual veiws, it was a nice change from the many books that seem to consider that BDSM is only active in the Gay comunity.
