What a treasure Leeming's book is. As his title suggests, he gives us both the explosive and the delicate, sometimes within one poem. Leeming is provocative and demanding, gentle and nudging - harsh but not bitter, tender but not trite. He has a playful, powerful mind, and his work offers accessibility and depth. When we finish each of Leeming's poems we think, "I would like to know this poet; life is not lost on him."
