With a day left to read all the books I promised myself to read before the year ends, I definitely finished my goal With a day left to spare. I had never heard of this author until a friend of mine met him at the New York Book Expo this year in New York, while he was promoting his book. To cut a long story short she got a copy of his book and gave it to me to read after she had finished it. She loved it and since we have the same taste in books I thought why not and added it to my list of books to read.
What I loved most about this novel is the amount of love & loyalty the six friends depicted in the book have for each other. Despite the dangers, the risks and their fight for survival in the gangster world, their friendship maintains strong as they depend on each other to survive. I loved this book by Michael Estepa! I even cried several times during the course of this book, which to be honest I never cry especially over a book about gangs!
