In promoting the "Colossus of New York," you should point specifically to the essay Colson wrote for the NYT Magazine shortly after 9/11, "Lost and Found."
This essay captures the experience of being a New Yorker better than anything since E.B. White's "Here is New York," in my opinion. Since it was published, I have taken the liberty of sharing it broadly and repeatedly, and it is beloved among my circle of friends and colleagues who love literature and love New York.
