it's a different way of writing a story, so it is sort of a novety for me. though it is in a letter form, it succeeds in telling the whole story without feeling cheated of the important details. it takes a certain degree of intelligence though to be able to follow the whole novel and understand it in its entirety.
oh well, bess was certainly a different kind of woman during her time. in fact, yes, i agree with another reviewer that she must have been hated by the more unconventional people of her time. but that is the price of daring to be different--differently minded especially. but bess didnt only had the right to be so, she could afford it and yes, she was certainly right!
