Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine
Ella Enchanted

judithbstar, April 13, 2009

Not your average fairy tale. Ella Enchanted is the one book that takes Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and all the lovely tales from our child hood and gives them a refreshing twist. It was the first book I ever chose by my self in elementary school and it is still one of my all time favorites here 10 years later. This book will make you laugh, cry, and Fall in love with all its wacky charming characters.

Sailor Moon 11 by Naoko Takeuchi
Sailor Moon 11

judithbstar, April 12, 2009

First I just want to point out that volume 11 is not the end of the Sailor Moon Manga set. In fact there are 7 more volumes in two separate series that complete the 18 volumes that make up the sailor moon story. The VERY LAST book is Sailor Moon "Sailor Stars Vol. 3" and is a ending that will make any fan happy:)

Ive been a fan of the Sailor moon series going well over 10 years now, ever since I discovered the anime in middle school. I have always found the manga a higher quality in comparison to its anime counterpart. Volume 11 of the series, for those who want to relate it to the anime, is almost like a mirror image of the Sailor Moon S movie. The stories are very similar and both focus mainly on Luna and here draw towards a human man. its a charming tale and gives a little deeper look into the feline side kick that everyone knows and loves. The art is wonderful and the manga flows with Naoko Takeuchi's normal artistic style.

Of course, since these books were some of the first transferred to English the American style of reading is used and the manga is backwards in comparison to how it was supposed to be seen. "not a huge problem only confusing when it comes to things like: right hands being used instead of left for things like wedding rings."
