This book follows on immediately from where the previous one Seduced by Moonlight ended, making reading them in order an important element. This entire book takes place over a day, dealing with the acquisition of power, the consolidation of alliances and Meredith's preparation for two crucial meetings, one with Krug King of the Goblin Court, the other with Taranis, King of Light and Illusion, and his Seelie nobility. Merry is exhibiting new powers In this book we learn considerably more about the court politics and the history of the fey, which fascinated me, but unfortunately we don't go to the Seelie court or the Goblin court. We see a lot more of Queen Andais, showing another side of her, although she is sadistic and mad she cares what happens to her court. The twists and turns in the book are attention grabbing and make you want to progress further to see what occurs next. The point I like most is that there is no true black and white, and light and darkness are not equal to good and bad and evil and good are not always what they seem to be. Ms. Hamilton leaves you on a cliffhanger precariously waiting for the next instalment to appear!

Seduced By Moonlight is the third novel in Laurell K.Hamilton's Princess Meredith series. This novel occurs over the span of two days and in this short period of time Merry has to cement her deal for alliance with the Goblins and when ordered to by the Queen return to court with her entourage. Upon arriving they find that something is drastically wrong. Not only is there an assassination attempt on Merry?s life, but also the Queen is out of control, someone has bespelled her and she is jeopardy of destroying her entire court, Merry is able to prevent the coup attempt whilst determining who is behind it. Meantime something is happening when Merry mates with her guards, they are coming back into their long lost powers and returning to the gods that they once were. Danu, the Goddess appears to Merry in a dream, and she is given a sacred chalice, other ancient and powerful Unseelie relics are also acquired, including a heavy ring given to her by Queen Andais. These sacred objects have their magic restored, as of old, through Merry and no one is sure how far her powers will take her. The ending was a true page-turner; I couldn't put it down I thoroughly recommend these books.

In her previous book, faerie princess Merry Gentry was given a challenge by her aunt, the Queen: If she doesn't produce a child before wicked cousin Cel does, then Cel gets the throne, however, things are getting messy as a mysterious force has left hundreds in California dead, and Merry has to find out why and who. Merry learns that a bizarre, primordial power has been unleashed to murder and what's more, Merry's very presence is beginning to awaken the godlike powers that the Sidhe thought they had lost. As always, Laurell K. Hamilton writes dark fantasy like no other, her descriptions and narratives really bring one's imagination to life. The best part about this book and this series thus far has to be the portrayal of the two courts of the Sidhe; I have never come across such a fascinating and distinctive interpretation of the two courts as in this series. Unseelie Sidhe as the superior court accommodating all children, no matter their parentage and the contrast between the artifice of the Seelie court with their brutality and torture. I'm hooked and looking forward to reading the next novel in the series, one of the best pieces of fiction on fairies I've ever read.

Laurell K. Hamilton has created a new series about the Sidhe/ Fey (otherwise known as Fairies) turning the idea of harmless little pixies into sensual and breathtaking characters that bound of the page. Princess Meredith NicEssus Gentry a fey princess of mixed mortal blood, has been hiding in Los Angeles for three years, from her wicked Aunt Andais, the Queen of Air and Darkness. Knowing that because of her mortality she could not survive another duel as she was unwillingly drawn into a power struggle over the question of succession. After mishandling a case at the Detective Agency where she works, Merry is exposed and forced to return to the Unseelie court, accompanied by Andais's personal Darkness, Doyle. Upon arriving Merry discovers that times have changed at the court and the fey are growing weak, the Queen wants Merry to bed some of the most gorgeous Sidhe men in the world and Merry has to produce a child within three years in a race for the throne against her sadistic cousin, Cel. The loser will die...
This is a must read and I urge everyone to give it a go!!!!
I can't wait for the next books in this series.

Anita Blake just may be America's most powerful vampire hunter and necromancer, so when a St. Louis stripper is murdered and the evidence points to a group of seven vampires the St. Louis police once again call for her assistance. It seems a master vampire has gone rogue and may prove too powerful for Anita Blake, even if she can gain help from the Master of the City Jean-Claude, the were leopard king Micah her other lover, and the alpha werewolf Richard her bitter ex-lover. Much of the novel focuses on her responsibilities as a leader in St. Louis's vampiric-lycanthropic community. It's not all about the previous characters though; there are lots of interesting new vamps and were?s that you're going to love to love and love to hate. The plot revolves strongly around Anita's blending of her executioner role, her vampire authority and abilities, and her relationships with the local police. This book is a continued evolution of a series and being that it is one in a long series, not all of the answers are going to be revealed if the series is to continue, so you are left with a lot of questions at the end of this novel!
