Living in California, I devour books about NY, especially Manhasset, where I was born. I hope that J.R. has found love, peace and can recognize his enemy. You can have friendships and stories and bonding without inebreation. I am not sure if I spelled that correctly, but J.R. will forgive me. I loved the opening paragraph and cried at the closing paragraph. Crying for all the stories woven in a place that was harmful but also oh so very tender. Very tender...thanks for the insight to men's tenderness and a sad reminder of what alcohol addiction can do to people.
