Diamond is an intellectual master of multiple academic disciplines, yet still able to clearly explain his cleverly distilled conclusions. He comes close to proselytizing towards the end of the book, but his theme - the fate of our civilization - is often worth his temporary loss of objective voice. Highly recommended.
