Robert A. Heinlein: In Dialogue with His Century: Volume 1 (1907-1948): Learning Curve

I approached this book with great trepidation. A huge fan of Mr. Heinlein's work, I was very afraid that this book would turn out to be nothing more than a panegyric, or poorly written, boring, and impenetrable, or all of these.

WOW! was I surprised. "Robert A, Heinlein: In Dialogue with His Century" is eminently readable, and quite balanced in its portrayal of a man who was, to fandom, nearly a god almost from the first publication of "Lifeline."

Kudos to Mr. Patterson, and a nudge to the publishers for volume II.
