Daughter of Han: The Autobiography of a Chinese Working Woman by Ida Pruitt

After reading this book for my class, (history of modern china) I feel as though i have a much better insight into the true life of a Chinese woman in the late 19th-early 20th centuries. Other books on the subject have a tendency to only focus on the major social-political players in the growth of china; but this book offers a real look into life for the majority of Chinese. The only downfall of this book is its a bit hard to understand because it is not translated into full grammatically correct English...but once again this only adds to the authenticity of the book.
