Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
Daughter of Smoke and Bone

This is the best book of 2011 so it is no surprise that many other's think this as well. The author has taken ancient literary character themes and created a world that is intensely unique and filled with dark emotions and moments of odd beauty. The main character Karou is a spunky heroine that all may not relate to but surely all will want her on their team. It is an epic story akin to Romeo and Juliet with a good dose of violence to keep the pace moving and keep you reading. Definitely a one night read minus sleep. It is that good!
