Simply facinating! I missed most of the broadcast during my 10 minute drive home, but what I heard was truly remarkable and inspiring. I googled "public radio", discovered PRI.ORG, searched for "time machine" and Eureka here I am! I immediately related to the author whose scientific passions, interests and beliefs parallel my own. And when I heard that he was an African-American male of my generation I said WOW!!! I too have been driven by an unbelievable childhood dream & role model - Superman with the mind of Christ. While my personal accomplishments pale in comparison to Dr Mallett's they are (relatively speaking) far greater than they would otherwise have been without a compelling vision of a future possibility. I am ecstatic at this serendipitous discovery, just 3 days before the beginning of Black History month. I definitely will be sharing his story in my community, with my friends and family concerning the power of belief (faith), perseverance & opportunity. Dr Mallett's story & books will be a welcome and timely addition to my personal collection of heroic writings & recommended readings. Dreams do come true. Imagine that!
