This book is the classic; the one that started it all. Without Heir to the Empire, there would be no STAR WARS novels as we know them today. Heir introduces some of the most beloved characters, like Mara Jade, Captain Pellaeon, Talon Karrde, the Noghri and Grand Admiral Thrawn. And the plot is amazing intricate, with things that you never thought would matter having astronomical consequences. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves the galaxy far, far away.

This is the most awesome book in the New Jedi Order. You must read this book in order to understand the rest of NJO as well as the Legacy of the Force and Fate of the Jedi series.
First the plot. Troy Denning does a masterful job weaving this story together. The Yuuzhan Vong are cloning a jedi-hunting animal. So Luke Skywalker send Anakin, Jacen and Jaina Solo of to the world of Myrkr to destroy the clone template. It is one of the best STAR WARS books ever written in my humble opinion.
