I read this book when I was in elementary school and found it fascinating then. I even did a project on the streets and the nationality, i.e. all the Spanish French, American they were named after. So I was glad to see it in a store and picked it up.
For someone born in or near New Orleans and familiar with the streets it is presents a great history as to why the streets have the names they have. I had forgotten that Chef Menteur means Chief Liar. I plan to send copies to my brothers who now live out of state.
